TRC Program Info
Welcome to Tennessee Robotics Club
Creating learning opportunities for our team members to RISE Together.
Tennessee Robotics Club (TRC) is an educational non-profit club participating in FIRST Robotics and sponsored by TRC Education | Tennessee Robotics Center and many others who graciously support our mission of providing learning opportunities for the Middle Tennessee community.
TRC Education provides students with the technical resources, a meeting location, tools and mentorship needed to build competitive robots in a hands-on learning environment and experience the rigors and excitement of real-world engineering technology, robotics, and coding.
TRC team members work together to solve real-world engineering challenges using 21st-century work-life skills while having a lot of fun competing and learning together. Although we are a newly formed FRC team, we believe there are three key elements that will help us achieve success:
- Technology education and outreach program
- Disciplined approach to the TRC Engineering Design Cycle to build competitive robots for FIRST competitions, and
- Community engagement, inclusion and outreach to homeschool and community students in Middle Tennessee.
We currently mentor and support two FIRST robotics programs with varying levels of challenge and team member commitment (time and resources):
- FIRST Tech Challenge (Red Team 11161)
- FIRST Tech Challenge (Blue Team 23867)
- FIRST Tech Challenge (White Team 23868)
TRC is open to all Middle Tennessee homeschool and community students who are seeking learning opportunities for future careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Mathematics (STEAM) to accept the challenge of real-world engineering problems that are out of this world.
A special thanks goes to Schneider Electric, TN Valley Robotics (TNVR), and RC Geeks who provide us with valuable program sponsorship and logistics support each year. With the help of our TRC sponsors, we are able to create 21st century learning opportunities for our students to 'Transcend the Game' for the 21st century workforce.
Volunteers and Team Mentors:
Volunteers and Mentors are the lifeblood of FIRST robotics. One thing to notice about the most successful programs in FTC and FRC is the level of parent and mentor involvement. Simply put, the more parents and mentors are involved in the program, the more successful the team tends to be. If you are interested in volunteering in any way, there are many tasks that must be done throughout the season. If you could help with tournaments, event preparation, social media, grant writing, supplies, events, donations, transportation, fundraisers, etc... you get the idea. There is plenty of work to be done during the entire season and the team and FIRST organizations will be extremely grateful for your support. Who knows, you may even catch the " FIRST robotics bug" while you're at it...
