Tennessee Robotics Club (TRC) creates opportunities for our students to transcend the game of robotics and pursue real-world engineering education and career opportunities.

The Challenge of building a 21st-century learning center in our community is great. We accept the challenge not because it is easy or profitable but because we know the investment will provide valuable STEAM learning opportunities for our members.

Robotics is just a vehicle to help students transcend the game learning 21st century skills and technology. Through the vehicle of FIRST Robotics, we promote values that truly transcend the game such as discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun.

We accept this challenge not because it is easy or profitable but because it is worthwhile and we have the will to do it. I know the investment will provide valuable learning experiences for our members to explore future STEAM careers and gain real-world experience.

Sponsorships invest in our greatest asset, our future technology leaders projecting freedom and leadership throughout our community and the world.

FIRST inspires us to make a difference in our community. We are committed to building a quality robotics education experience for our students guided by community volunteers, coaches, and mentors.

TriStar sponsors are the driving force of TRC and essential for our program growth. Your sponsorship is more than just a financial donation in our program. It is an important investment in our community and our nation.

TRC Fundraising Plan and Strategy

TRC Fundraising Plan and Strategy

TRC is committed to providing a high-quality learning environment with maximum participation being good stewards of financial gifts and sponsorship opportunities presented to us. This commitment requires an investment of both time and resources to provide the learning environment each Team Member needs to reach their highest potential.

The TRC Fundraising Strategy relies on the following elements:

1. Supporting the FIRST Mission
2. Team Member Commitment
3. Family Support
4. Community Outreach

  • Supporting the FIRST Mission

FRC Team members, coaches, and mentors support the FIRST Mission by volunteering at local FIRST FLL and FTC tournaments and events by serving as tournament volunteers and judges throughout the year. This is an essential element of our fundraising strategy as it provides an opportunity for our team to support the FIRST programs and teams.

This year, our team will  support the following FIRST events:

    • FTC Java Programming Workshop 1- Aug 2019

    • FTC Skystone Kickoff at Central Magnet- Sept 2019

    • FTC Java Programming Workshop 2- Sept 2019

    • FLL High Mach Qualifier in Tullahoma- Dec 2019

    • FLL State Championship- Feb 2020

    • FTC TN State Championship- Feb 2020

    • FIRST Championship- April 2020

  • Team Member Commitment

The first star in our fundraising strategy represents the Team member who show commitment to the program by participating in team meetings, community outreach, and tournaments. Team members must follow the FIRST Philosophies, Values and Mission treating others with courtesy and respect at all times while valuing the diversity of thought and championing of ideas. We want to be sure all team members feel appreciated, respected and included.

  • Family Support

Families represent the second star by providing the logistics support the team member needs including transportation, team registration fees, and supporting the team by attending events. The most successful teams in FTC can be measured by the level of parent and mentor involvement. Simply put, the more parents and mentors are involved in the program, the more successful the team will be. Each team member pays a small registration fee to cover personal protective equipment, tools, and supplies.

  • Community Outreach

The final star represents financial sponsorship from community sponsors and organizations who help pay for the program resources the team needs to fulfill the learning goals of the TRC program. Our club honors this investment from our community sponsors by participating in robotics demonstrations, STEM camps, educational outreach events, and team workshops throughout the year. Team members also perform community service and outreach in appreciation of our sponsorships received. Example events include supporting robotics camps, programming workshops, robotics demonstrations, and other community outreach events.
